Announcing Artwork Registry

Most artists we talked to were running their practice out of three places that didn’t talk to each other: a spreadsheet for inventory, a website for the public-facing work, and a document somewhere for the CV. Every sale, every new exhibition, every price change meant updating some subset of those three — and it was never all three, every time.

Artwork Registry exists to close that gap. It’s a WordPress plugin, not a hosted platform, so your records live on infrastructure you already control. Update an artwork once — its price, its availability, which edition copy sold — and your website and public archive reflect it, because they’re reading from the same record instead of a copy of it. Your CV lives in the same system, written directly, exportable to PDF, instead of a separate file you forgot to update.

That one-place principle extends to galleries representing multiple artists, too. Gallery Mode keeps the gallery’s own identity separate from each artist’s individual inventory and archive, without forcing every artist’s work into one undifferentiated pool.

The goal isn’t just a new website. The goal is a more organized art practice.
